The 2007 Belle Brise has a fresh, well-defined bouquet with plenty of black and red berry fruit to go round. There is a pastille-like element at play, denuding the aromatics of real complexity but certainly lending it purity. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly dry tannins. It is nicely balanced with good weight in the mouth, although the second half demonstrates more advancement than either the 2009 or 2010 and the finish appears just a little attenuated. Certainly, this is a commendable Pomerol wine for the vintage, although it is not one that I would cellar long-term. Tasted June 2013.
